Visual Inspection of Tanks in Operation
Visual Inspection of Tanks in Operation
The use of a Remotely Operated Vehicle (VRO) allows visual inspection and cleaning to be carried out while the tanks are still in operation, without water quality being affected.
For fire fighting systems, the technique meets the requirements of standard NFPA 25 items 9.2.6.1.1 and 9.2.6.1.2.
Visual inspection allows, through high-resolution images, to check the general internal conditions, welding regions, internal devices, columns, bottom and ceiling.
It is highly recommended as a prerequisite for the cleaning process, as it is possible to assess the volume of debris present at the bottom of the tank.
Cleaning aims to bring reliability to the system, avoiding clogging of sprinklers, the proliferation of biodiversity and changes in the pH of the water, which can accelerate the corrosion process.
Techniques applied to various water storage systems, such as:
•Fire fighting
•Cooling tower
•Process
•Treated
•Gross
•Spheres
•External reservoirs
Visual Inspection of Thermoaccumulation Tanks
ASP specializes in the inspection of thermal storage tanks, where it is possible to analyze the distribution conditions of chilled water inside the tank, as well as carry out specific inspections with ultrasound in different regions of the tank.
Thermoaccumulation tanks are present in large air conditioning systems.
Subsea Inspection
The visual inspection VRO can also be used in an offshore environment with inspection solutions for ship hulls, FPSOs, ballast tanks, platforms, pipelines and other equipment.
